Tecia Torres and Angela Hill at UFC 188 on June 12, 2015 | Esther Lin, MMA Fighting Angela Hill and Tecia Torres missed a chance to fight one another again two months ago, but that hasn’t stopped them from trading shots on social media.
Late Thursday evening, Hill posted a tweet criticizing Torres for supposedly avoiding their rematch. The two were scheduled to fight at UFC 256 in December, but Hill withdrew due to a positive COVID-19 test. Torres instead fought newcomer Sam Hughes and won by first-round doctor stoppage.
Hey @TeciaTorres heard you’d rather sit out till October than fight me, you signed the contract for Dec., what changed, u got paid for beating a last minute newb? Good to know ur still terrified of fighting me after all these years. Staying ready cause these bitches are scurd.

Hill and Torres first fought at UFC 188 in June 2015, with Torres winning a unanimous decision. It was the second UFC fight for both women following their time on The Ultimate Fighter 20, and just the third pro bout of Hill’s career (Torres’ sixth).
The callout did not go unrecognized and Torres replied Friday with a seven-point list of reasons why a rematch with hill no longer interests her.

The facts, according to Torres:
I beat you already.
I also beat Michelle [Waterson] and Rose [Namajunas] who both beat you.
I signed a contract to fight you in December, you unfortunately got COVID.
I won my last two fights, you lost yours.
I’ve fought all of the champions at 115. I’m definitely not scared of you.
Like you, I wish to fight someone ranked above me and advance my career.
Beat some ranked opponents and then if it makes sense I’ll fight you.
In response, Hill doubled down on accusing Torres of avoiding a fight that she’d previously accepted.
You’re still sitting out for over half a year instead of fighting a fight you already signed the contract for despite my last 2 losses. Instead of writing this essay you could’ve signed the contract to fight me. You beat me 6 years ago (pre usada) you sound scared homie. https://t.co/UXgvsFkdyh

In terms of streaks, Torres and Hill are trending in opposite directions. Torres has won two straight, knocking off Hughes and Invicta FC standout Brianna Van Buren, while Hill has lost consecutive split decisions to Michelle Waterson and Claudia Gadelha.
