Vieira and Kunitskaya remain on the hunt for a title shot after setbacks in key fights. Vieira is five months removed from a decision over Sijara Eubanks, which put her back in the win column after she was knocked out by Alexa Grasso in a fight that might have earned her a shot at the belt. Prior to that, she’d gone 4-0 in the octagon and was unbeaten in 10 pro fights. At No. 6 in the UFC’s rankings, she’s still in striking distance of a golden opportunity.
At No. 7, Kunitskaya also needs to pick up key victories to build her title case, which is where a win over Vieira would come in handy. With a 3-2 ledger in the UFC, she needs wins over higher-ranked opponents. Most recently, she outpointed Julija Stoliarenko to rebound from a TKO loss to top contender Aspen Ladd.
