Raoni Barcelos tested positive for the novel coronavirus six days before UFC Vegas 20 | Guilherme Cruz, MMA Fighting Hours after the UFC finally got Raoni Barcelos a new opponent for UFC Vegas 20 on Feb. 27, the Brazilian bantamweight has tested positive for COVID-19, he announced on social media on Monday.

Barcelos and his wife are feeling “fine” and experiencing no symptoms, he said in Portuguese in a video posted on Twitter. The former RFA featherweight champion said he expects to be able to fight again soon.
The 135-pound prospect, who is 5-0 under the UFC banner with wins over the likes of Said Nurmagomedov and Khalid Taha, was originally scheduled to face Raphael Assuncao on Feb. 27, but was then paired up against promotional newcomer Marcelo Rojo after Assuncao pulled out due to an injury.
It’s still unknown if Rojo will get a new opponent for at UFC Vegas 20, sources said. The Fight Night event will be headlined by rising heavyweight heavy-hitters Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Ciryl Gane at the UFC APEX.
