The streaking Edwards made it eight straight victories with a convincing unanimous decision win over dos Anjos, seemingly placing him in prime position to challenge for the UFC welterweight title. However, travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, a bout with the virus himself, and difficulties finding matchups has kept Edwards on the shelf for 19 months.
He returns this Saturday when he fights short-notice replacement Belal Muhammad in the UFC Vegas 21 main event.
