Ige, who’s nickname is “50k,” was one of four fighters awarded a “Performance of the Night” bonus on Saturday at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. The post-fight bonuses were announced by the promotion following the event.
Ige earned his extra money with a highlight-reel knockout of Gavin Tucker on the ESPN+ main card. A right hand put Tucker on the canvas at the 22-second mark of the opening round.
In other bonuses given out on Saturday night, co-headliner Ryan Spann clinched his bonus with his own first-round finish In an early exchange, he dropped Misha Cirkunov and then followed up with another shot that forced referee intervention at the 1:11 mark of the opening frame.
Bantamweight Davey Grant went into the second frame for his finish, but his left hook stoppage of Jonathan Martinez at the 3:03 mark of the middle frame secured his bonus.
The fighter with the fastest stoppage of the night secured the final bonus as Matthew Semelsberger stopped Jason Witt just 16 seconds into the opening round of the event’s first bout.
