After his third-round KO win over fellow bantamweight Gustavo Lopez at UFC Vegas 22 this past Saturday, Yanez is facing a potential six-month suspension for an injury to his right hand unless cleared by an orthopedic doctor, according to the official list of medical suspensions released by mixedmartialarts.com. If that happens, the Houston native could get what he asked for as his minimum suspension would end April 20.
Five other fighters are also facing potential 180-day layoffs: Montserrat Ruiz (left knee and right shoulder), Cheyanne Buys (right elbow), Harry Hunsucker (left hand and thumb), Trevin Giles (right foot), and Roman Dolidze (right orbital).
