Both organizations announced Monday that former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett (16-3) has signed with the UFC. It is likely that Pimblett will fight at 155 pounds, the weight class he has competed in since dropping the featherweight belt to Nad Narimani in April 2017.

A date and opponent have yet to be determined for the 26-year-old from Liverpool, England.
Pimblett’s signing comes hot off the heels of a spectacular performance in his most recent outing, in which he defeated Davide Martinez by submission in just 1:37. It was the second straight win for the popular Englishman, and his third in his past four appearances. Pimblett rose to prominence in Cage Warriors, going 8-1 in his first nine fights for the promotion and capturing a featherweight belt with a win over Johnny Frachey September 2016. He recorded one successful title defense against UFC veteran Julian Erosa.
Before and after his win over Martinez, Pimblett made it clear his intention was to make a long-awaited move to the UFC and now that plan has come to fruition.
