Francs Ngannou | Esther Lin, MMA Fighting Francis Ngannou has opened as a solid favorite over Jon Jones in a potential heavyweight title fight.
This past weekend at UFC 260, Ngannou secured his first world title with a second-round knockout over former champion Stipe Miocic, which then set the stage for the possible showdown with Jones.

Jones vacated his 205-pound title in order to pursue the heavyweight title and he had previously been promised the next shot against the winner of Ngannou vs. Miocic. Now that Nganou has been cemented as champion, oddsmakers believe he has a very good shot of becoming the first person to hold a legitimate win over Jones in his career.
Ngannou is currently listed as a -185 favorite over Jones, who comes back as the underdog at +165 based on how the odds opened at SportsBetting.ag.
That means a $100 bet on Jones would yield $165 in winnings while it would currently take a $185 bet on Ngannou to receive $100 should he be victorious.
As soon as the odds were released, Ngannou actually opened as a -200 favorite and there was a lot of early action on Jones, which dropped the overall odds down to where they currently stand.
That said, Ngannou has earned even more respect for this possible fight after he originally opened as a -145 favorite when rumors about this matchup were swirling this past August.
This is also the first time Jones has been considered an underdog by oddsmakers since his first two fights in the UFC when he was an underdog to Andre Gusmao and Stephan Bonnar in consecutive bouts. Jones won both of those fights decisively and that was the end of his underdog status until now.
