Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed to MMA Fighting that Glenn will take on Joaquim Silva at the UFC’s event on June 19, which currently does not have a location or venue announced by the UFC.
Glenn will make his first octagon appearance since a unanimous decision loss to Kevin Aguilar at the TUF 28 Finale in November 2018 after dealing with a variety of injuries, which included a major hip surgery, Glenn told MMA Fighting in November. “The Gladiator” was scheduled to face Carlton Minus at UFC Vegas 17 in December before a positive COVID-19 test scratched him from the bout. Glenn looks to pick up his first win since earning a decision against Dennis Bermudez at UFC Fight Night 133 in July 2018.
Silva also returns to action following an extended layoff. “Neto BJJ” last competed in August 2019 and was stopped in the second round by Nasrat Haqparast at UFC on ESPN 5. Silva is 4-2 in his six octagon appearances since competing on season 4 of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, which includes TKO wins over Jared Gordon and Andrew Holbrook.
The UFC’s June 19 event is expected to be headlined by a featherweight matchup between “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung and Dan Ige.
