In a recently released trailer for its upcoming UFC 261 event on April 24, UFC President Dana White opens the video by touting that his promotion is set to have an audience at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville with no capacity restrictions. White recently boasted that the event has already sold out, with over 15,000 fans expected to be in attendance.
This will be the first full capacity UFC show since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March of last year.
The event is bolstered by a trio of world championship bouts, headlined by Kamaru Usman defending the welterweight title in a rematch against “BMF” titleholder Jorge Masvidal. Usman defeated Masvidal by unanimous decision at UFC 251 on Fight Island last July, when Masvidal stepped in on short-notice to replace Gilbert Burns.
Strawweight champion Zhang Weili goes for her second straight title defense when she faces former champion Rose Namajunas in the co-main event, and Valentina Shevchenko looks for her fifth flyweight title defense when she fights former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade.
