Looking for a new carry weapon.

Requirements, semi-auto design, slim profile, at least 5 round mag +1 chambered, .45cal preferred, DAO first shot only, then SA following rounds.

Domestic or import. Actual experiences with the weapon critiqued please.

Thanks.

Springfield may actually make something like that.

I know you wanted experience, but I can't afford a Springfield pistol, they are pretty expensive, but also very high quality

Yea, the last time I looked at Springfield Armory 45's, they were all modeled after the 1911. SA only. But that has been a long time ago - thanks!

1911 is kinda heavy. for a everyday carry piece. I was looking into this gun i saw on outdoor network. They showed woman carrying it in there fanny packs. I gota find out what it was again. right now I carry a sig p239 357 with a nitron finish. It will stop any fools who jump in my square. Hahah.

If you want concealability (sp), a Glock is your ticket, very light weight. Good design, my dad has a .40

They have a .45 version that is designed to be concealed, the Glock model 30, only holds 6 shots though. The other version holds 13.

They aren't really cheap though.

Holy shit! We aren't even allowed to have hand guns up here in Canada. We need a special lisence and are only allowed to carry it in the car to and from the shooting gallery and on the shortest route. Up shit creek if you are off of that route. You guys are talking about handguns being as common as watches!

I'd go with the sig 220 .45cal very nice and reliable. Good weight and balance. The 10 mil is a little hot so rapid fire is not advisable. I prefer sig over glock but both in 45 cal are the best.
