Regan Grimes won the KO Pro contest on Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021. As a result, he is officially added to the list of competitors qualified for the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest, which will take place in Las Vegas, NV next December. The top 10 bodybuilders in the Men’s Open contest from the 2021 KO Pro are below:

Mohamed Shaaban came in second place, and Samson Dauda rounded out the top three. The second through fifth-place finishers earned Tier 4 points in the Olympia Qualification Series.

Winner — Regan Grimes
The 2021 KO Pro was Grimes’ second appearance on stage since his 15th place finish at the 2021 Mr. Olympia. He previously finished second to Shaun Clarida at the Legion Sports Fest. Here his muscles appeared more full, and he was ripped from head to toe. This may have been the best he has looked since he turned pro in 2017.
Grimes was never taken out of the center spot in comparison by the judges. This was his second win in the Open Division, and his spot at the 2022 Olympia is secured. There is no word on if he will shift his focus entirely to the 2022 Olympia or continue competing.
Second Place — Mohamed Shaaban
Shaaban was one of eight Egyptian competitors in this lineup, and the fans cheered for him loudly. He was the home country favorite for this contest, but Grimes was too polished to overtake. Shaaban earned max points for his second-place effort, and he can jump into another contest to earn his spot in the 2022 Olympia lineup.
Third Place — Samson Dauda
Dauda clinched his third top-three finish in a month, but can’t seem to secure a win. He finished as the runner-up to Nathan De Asha at the Arnold Classic UK, and he took third in the Yamamoto Cup, also won by De Asha. The winners Dauda faced nailed their peaks and he looked great, but the traveling and frequent competitions may be taking a toll on him. The good news is that he is currently in the lead in the points standings with 14 thanks to his high placings so far.
Mr. Olympia Makes Guest Posing Appearance
The fans in the building got a nice surprise when Mr. Olympia Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay took the stage to address them. He then took part in a guest posing exhibition, which brought them to their feet. Elssbiay also joined the sponsors in presenting the first-place award to Grimes.
Other Division Winners
This contest featured four men’s divisions. Two of them (212 and Men’s Physique) saw home country athletes emerge victoriously. All four champions are added to their respective lists of qualified athletes for the 2022 Olympia.

Looking Ahead
The next contest for the Men’s Open is the EVLS Pro in Prague, Czech Republic. That contest will be held on Nov. 6, 2021. At the time of this article’s publication, the competitor list for the EVLS Pro has yet to be announced.
