Shane Haller (140KG) Sets All-Time World Raw Record Squat of 420 Kilograms (926 Pounds) at 2022 WRPF The Ghost Clash

Th2 2022 World Raw Powerlifting Federation (WRPF) The Ghost Clash in Miami, FL, on Feb. 13, 2022, featured some of the top powerlifters in the world. They sought to rewrite the records books, and several ultimately did. In the Men’s 140-kilogram class, the story of the event was Shane Haller, who scored a new all-time world record raw squat of 420 kilograms (925.9 pounds). He successfully locked out eight of his nine attempts on competition day to score the following results:

  • Total — 1,065 kilograms (2,347.9 pounds)
According to Open Powerlifting, Haller’s new all-time world record raw squat exceeded the previous record of 418.5 kilograms (922.6 pounds) scored by Robb Philippus at the 2017 WRPF Boss of Bosses 4. Haller’s new world record squat is precisely 3.5 times his competition bodyweight. According to Open Powerlifting, Haller’s second squat of 410 kilograms was his previous competition best, scored at the 2021 WRPF The Bucked Up Showdown on Sept. 25, 2021. Haller’s 10-kilogram jump leapfrogged him past Dennis Cornelius‘ 412.5-kilogram third-ever heaviest squat and Eric Lilliebridge’s 417.5-kilogram second heaviest ever squat, in addition to surpassing Philippus.


Weighing in at 139.4 kilograms, Haller’s total locked him in as the Male Best Overall Lifter at the 2022 The Ghost Clash with a Wilks score of 595.513. Jawon Garrison of the 82.5-kilogram class ranked second overall with a Wilks of 580.451, and Jordan Faria in the 110-kilogram class ranked third overall with a Wilks score of 563.935.

Shane Haller’s Powerlifting Career
Including the 2022 WRPF The Ghost Clash, the 28-year-hold Haller has competed in 10 sanctioned powerlifting meets since making his competitive debut in 2016 at the Raw United Powerlifting Federation (RAWU) Mike Witmer Memorial at age 23. Of those 10 contests, he won all but one of them. The outlier is a third-place finish at the 2019 United States Powerlifting Association (USPA) The Tribute.
