Former American log lift record holder Rob Kearney is preparing to return to the competitive strongman stage at the 2022 Rogue Invitational, where he will compete against nine other elite strongmen for the biggest prize purse in the sport. The contest takes place on Oct. 28-30, 2022, at the Dell Diamond Stadium in Austin, TX.
That preparation will continue in Kearney’s new strongman home gym while working with five-time Fittest Man on Earth® Mat Fraser‘s Hard Work Pays Off (HWPO) programming. Kearney gave a tour of his new gym on Oct. 10, 2022. Check it out in the video below, courtesy of his YouTube channel:

Kearney explains that this home gym is smaller than his previous one but still has all the equipment he needs to prepare for the Rogue Invitational. The first stop on the tour is a plate tree holding animal-print bumper plates, followed by cardio equipment like an Assault bike, a rowing machine, and a treadmill.
Kearney primarily performs low-impact cardio to get his heart rate up. This is vital to strongman athletes as many events are sprint events, so to speak, like yoke walks and medleys where competitors have to move implements in the fastest time possible.
Sandwiched between the treadmill and a large dumbbell rack maxing out at 150 pounds is a GHD machine. Turning along the far side of the room from the entrance, Kearney is greeted by his “hydration station,” which features a bevy of water bottles and Reign® Total Body Fuel drinks in a pair of refrigerators.
The last station on the far wall houses a pull-up rack that doubles as an additional squat rack. In the distant corner from the entrance are a prowler sled, a log for log presses, and a pair of drop pads.

The centerpiece of Kearney’s gym is his squat rack/cable machine with all the fixings — weight plates, multiple grip attachments, and a weight bench. On the final wall is a collection of barbells, including two power barbells, a Gladiator Olympic barbell, a safety squat bar, a cambered barbell, a custom Elephant bar, and an EZ-curl bar. Next to those is a full kettlebell rack maxing out at 105 pounds. At the foot of that rack is a trio of slam balls.
In 2021, Kearney ranked sixth out of 10 at the 2021 Rogue Strongman Invitational. He’ll undoubtedly look to improve upon that mark as the runner-up from 2021 — two-time reigning World’s Strongest Man (WSM) champion Tom Stoltman — declined his invite.
