The 2022 Olympia will see a new Fitness Olympia winner crowned. The 2021 Fitness Olympia champion Whitney Jones has withdrawn from the 2022 Olympia contest. The reason for Jones’ withdrawal, according to a post on her Instagram page, was undisclosed health issues that required her full attention.
Jones also confirmed her decision to BarBend‘s bodybuilding contributor, Roger Lockridge, onsite at the 2022 Olympia.

I’ve had some unfortunate health issues that need my entire focus…and after discussions with the IFBB Pro League, Mr. Olympia LLC, and the Wings of Strength team, this very difficult decision was made.
Jones is a three-time Fitness Olympia champion. She won back-to-back titles in 2018 and 2019 before dropping the title to Missy Truscott in 2020 — Jones finished third behind runner-up Oksana Grishina. Jones reclaimed the Fitness Olympia crown in 2021 with a score of 22 points — five points better than Truscott, who finished second, and 32 points better than Grishina, who ranked third.
The Olympia will be a bit different…I just sadly won’t be joining everyone up there this year.
The Fitness division is the lone division at the Olympia that scores athletes on their performances in addition to their physiques and their posing routines. The “routine round” accounts for two-thirds of the athletes’ scores. The 2022 Fitness Olympia routines will occur during the division finals on Friday, Dec. 16, 2022, at the Zappos Theater in Planet Hollywood.
The 2022 Fitness Olympia roster is below in alphabetical order:

Truscott, Grishina, and Garcia are all former Olympia champions in the lineup and stand strong chances of ascending the Fitness Olympia throne. Nineteen other athletes stand in their way. Should someone other than the aforementioned three win the 2022 Fitness Olympia, they will be the 14th champion in the division’s history.
The 2022 Olympia weekend takes place Dec. 16-18, 2022, in Las Vegas, NV. Potential spectators can watch the Fitness Olympia as well as the other 10 divisions that will be contested via pay-per-view for $59.99 on the Olympia website: https://www.olympiaproductions.com/
