The 58th Mr. Olympia contest was one of the biggest ever, literally. Over 30 men wanted to emerge victorious. Only two bodybuilders in that lineup, Brandon Curry and Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay know the feeling of being Mr. Olympia. Elssbiay was looking to win three in a row, but Curry wanted to be the second man to win the title back after losing it onstage. Jay Cutler was the first who regained the Sandow Trophy in 2009.
The two-night contest started with individual introductions of all 30 entrants on Friday, Dec. 17, 2022, at the Zappos Theater in Las Vegas, NV.
The theater was filled with fans that all had their favorites, but head judge Steve Weinberger was only concerned with the men in front of him, and he is known for putting the athletes through their poses to make the right decision.
