Laure placed in the top five in all five events at the Fittest of the Coast en route to a 12-point win over runner-up, Marissa Gabb. Laure kicked off the competition with a fourth-place finish in “Marooned,” a workout with a 1,600-meter run buy-in that went into four rounds of 25 wall balls and two rope climbs. She finished with a time of 12:53, just three seconds behind the third-place finisher, Briana Dunbar.
She concluded the first day with the two-part workout “Cannonballs,” in which she placed second in both halves. In the first part, Laure had four minutes to find a max load for a clean + hang clean complex. She finished with a final weight of 225 pounds.
After a one-minute break, the second part of the workout consisted of:

At this point, Laure was 11 reps behind the leader, former teammate Danielle Dunlap.
Laure started the final day of competition with her first and only event win in “The Captain.” This event featured a five-minute time cap, but Laure just needed 2:44 to finish the 18-calorie Rogue Echo Bike, 12 bar muscle-ups, nine thrusters, and 35-foot front rack walking lunges. In the end, she finished 17 seconds ahead of Gabb.
She went into the competition’s final event with a 32-point lead over Gabb and was able to hold onto first place overall, despite placing fifth in this workout. “Sea Dog” was a 10-minute AMRAP that included three movements: 20 Zeus rope double-unders, six deficit handstand push-ups, and three snatches. Laure finished with 289 reps, just two reps behind the third-place finisher.

Along with her win here, Laure also came out on top in the very competitive RX division at the 2023 TYR Wodapalooza.
Laure did qualify for the Games in 2022 as a member of the CrossFit Shoofly team, but their invite was rescinded after one of their members tested positive for a banned substance.
Before electing to join a team in 2022, she originally competed as an individual in the Open and Quarterfinals. She placed a career-best 188th in the Open and an impressive 15th in the North America Quarterfinals.

Laure — a veteran and former infantry officer in the U.S. Army — won both the Veteran and Law Enforcement divisions in the 2022 Occupational Games. It was the second-straight year she won the Law Enforcement division.
During the 2021 Games season, she competed as an individual, placing 257th in the Open and 68th in the North America Quarterfinals. This qualified her for the MACC Semifinal, where she placed 26th in her first appearance at a major competition.
She has won three individual competitions this off-season, including the Crash Crucible back in September. In 2023, she will join Games veterans Alexis Johnson, Brandon Luckett, and Logan Collins on the CrossFit Francos Misfits team.
“In 2023, I hope to be standing on the podium at the Games surrounded by some of the best human beings I’ve ever met,” Laure wrote about her team in a message to BarBend. “This team came into my life when I needed them the most and quickly became family.”
