Kheycie Romero (100KG) Sets Three All-Time Raw World Records at 2023 Ghost Clash 2

Powerlifter Kheycie Romero (100 KG) scored a raw total of 617.5 kilograms (1,360.9 pounds) for a new all-time world record raw total at the World Raw Powerlifting Federation’s (WRPF) Ghost Clash 2 meet in Miami, FL, on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023.
En route to scoring her world record total, Romero eclipsed her previous all-time raw world record deadlift by 15 kilograms and her previous all-time raw world record squat by 12.5 kilograms. She went seven for nine between the squat, bench press, and deadlift to cement her place in powerlifting history.

Per Open Powerlifting, the previous all-time world record raw total in the Women’s 100KG category was 600 kilograms (1,322.8 pounds), scored by Gabrielle Felps at the 2022 USAPL TBS Prime Time and Open on Sept. 24, 2022.
Kheycie Romero’s World Record Performance
According to LiftingCast, Romero weighed in at 99.15 kilograms (218.6 pounds). The 29-year-old went three for three on the squat, opening with a lift of 210 kilograms (463 pounds). She made a 12.5-kilogram jump to 222.5 kilograms (490.6 pounds) before a personal competition record of 232.5 kilograms.
Romero went two for three on the bench press. She got on the board with a lift of 120 kilograms (264 pounds). She added five kilograms to the barbell and received three white lights for another personal record. She missed her final attempt of 130 kilograms (286 pounds).
Romero claimed the new raw total world record on her opening attempt on the deadlifts by successfully pulling 260 kilograms (573.3 pounds) — five kilograms short of her personal competition record. She missed her second attempt of 272.5 kilograms (600.8 pounds). Attempting that same weight on her final attempt, the side judges red-lit the lift despite Romero reaching lockout.

This is Romero’s first all-time world record. It was her first meet since she competed in the 2021 WRPF The Bucked Up Showdown. Romero was the only 100-kilogram female lifter at the Ghost Clash 2.
Romero earned a $500 bonus for setting a world record at the meet. Hunter Henderson was also at the meet and broke her own all-time raw squat world record in the 82.5-kilogram category.
