The third and final workout of the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Open was a triplet that offered an award for those who could finish the assigned work during the allocated time. The award? More time, different skills, and heavier weight.

2023 CrossFit Open Workout 23.3
To start the workout, athletes had six minutes to complete as many reps as possible of:

Five Wall Walks
50 Double-Unders
15 Snatches — Men: 95 pounds | Women: 65 pounds
Five Wall Walks
50 Double-Unders
12 Snatches — Men: 135 pounds | Women: 95 pounds

If completed before the six-minute time cap, athletes added three minutes to the time cap and had to complete:

20 Strict Handstand Push-Ups
50 Double-Unders
Nine Snatches — Men: 185 pounds | Women: 125 pounds

If completed before the nine-minute time cap, athletes added three minutes to the time cap and had to complete:

20 Strict Handstand Push-Ups
50 Double-Unders
Six Snatches — Men: 225 pounds | Women: 155 pounds

23.3 Takeaways — Individual Women’s Division
Dani Speegle can add an extra $2,023 to her bank account, as she earned her first career Open workout victory in 23.3. Her previous high finish in an Open workout was fourth, which she did during workouts 20.2 and 21.4.
Brooke Wells missed out on her second career Open workout victory by just 10 seconds. Instead, she picked up her eighth top-10 finish and third runner-up place.
Argentinian Sasha Nieves’ third-place finish is her best since winning 20.4 back in 2020. She also holds the distinction of recording the best Open finish for a South American woman this year.
Emma Cary recorded her third top-10 finish in four workouts in this year’s Open, giving her five in her career. Mallory O’Brien also recorded her third top-10 finish of the Open, giving her eight top-10 finishes in 11 Open workouts dating back to 2021.
Danielle Brandon initially performed the workout as part of CrossFit’s live Open Announcement, where she finished in 10:20. She retested the workout over the weekend and improved her time by over two minutes, finishing in 8:17 to place ninth.
All-time great Annie Thorisdottir recorded her best Open workout finish since 2020. Her seventh-place finish is her 28th top-10 finish in 59 career Open workouts. She has finished in the top 20 in Open workouts 35 times in her career.

Tola Morakinyo won his first-ever Open workout with a time of 7:44. His best previous Open workout finish was a third in 20.4. He now has three top-five Open workout finishes in his career.
Canadian Samuel Cournoyer placed second in the workout, which is a career-best in the Open. And Jake Berman’s third-place finish continued a streak of top-10 workout finishes in the Open that dates back to 2017.

Jeffrey Adler ended his impressive 2023 Open with his best workout finish, placing fifth. It was his second top-10 finish of the Open, and he is the only men’s athlete to finish in the top 100 in every workout.
Also of note, reigning and defending Fittest Man on Earth® Justin Medeiros placed 11th, just one second behind Dallin Pepper. Meanwhile, 10-time Games champion Rich Froning placed 22nd with a time of 8:46, his best workout finish in this year’s Open.
