First off i want to say that im a member from anabolex board and ive been on this one for 2days now and its BLOWS bolex away in my opinion all the extra catergories in the forums are GREAT :) ..... especially the recipies love finding new ways to make bodybuilding foods taste better. Well with the question i have is what is the main difference between the Whey contrate and the whey Isolate/concentrate that Shwartz lab offers?? i did a search and someone did a post like this but i wanted to know alittle more .. from what ive read ISOLATE is the better one but with the price being so different is it that much better?? or can you get away wiht concentrate and get same results??

All whey protein has been through a filtering process in which most of the fat and carbohydrates have been removed.

Whey concentrate protein usually contains a small amount of fat and carbohydrates. To be exact, it is 80% protein. It is also much more economical than whey isolate protein. You get the most for your money.

Whey isolate protein is further filtered, and is 90% protein. With less fat and carbohydrates than whey concentrate, this formula is perfect for those who are trying to get rid of most of the fat in their diet.

Thanks for the replies man i apprecaite ... so bottom line if your trying to be SUPER picky like contest dieting or what not then isolate would be the way to go but any other time just go for concetrate?? i was reading the labels on the web site and they both had the same amount of carbs 3carbs per serviing .. so they seemed the same in that aspect im pretty sure i saw that right

That is the general answer, however I wrote the company for you to get a more specific answer. When I hear back I'll post it.

thanks for your help.... where im kinda of confused is where you say concetrate if 80% protein and isolate is 90% ... so does this mean that when i use 1scoop im not getting 24grams of protien thats on the label.. im gettings 80% of that 24?? this might be a stupid question but just curious

No you get the full 24 in a serving. The label on both containers read the same, ingredients and all, except for the servings per container. When they write back I'll post it for ya!

Ok bro, got a mail from rep. He said that it has to do with industry standers of purity. He told me to call for a further explanation, which I will tomorrow, I have to work today. Answer forthcoming!

Called today bro, the rep that contacted me is out until Monday. I'll get ahold of him and get your answer.

well a whey concetrate can be lower than 80% some go as low as 60 i beleive! they main problem is the bioavaliblity of the proteins( aminos) and also the digestability!

so overall isolate is way better ?? or can you just take the concentrate and take more of it? becuase the price difference is quite different per pound getting more pounds for a few more bucks of concentrate just wanted to kow if it was really worth paying for it or can yo uget away with concentrate that was my only concern

Whey Protein Concentrate is the simplest and cheapest form of whey protein by far, derived from sweet dairy whey and used extensively by many supplement companies in an effort to bolster protein content at an extremely favorable price, thus profit margin. Concentrate can vary anywhere from 34-80% protein, so even in the best form, there is only 80% useable product. Whey Concentrate is much higher in fat and carbs (lactose) than the premium Whey Isolates, therefore resulting in far less assimilation by the stomach and intestines. If someone has upset stomach problems with supplemental protein shakes the culprit is almost always Whey Concentrate

Ion Exchange is a procedure that separates the proteins based upon their electrical charge. The extraction process happens by controlling the electrical charge on the proteins using chemicals, and therefore attaching them to resins in the reaction vessel. The finished product is fat and lactose free and contains some of the microfractions necessary for muscle repair and overall health. Ion Exchange whey isolate is slightly higher in actual protein content than it’s competing isolate product (Cross Flow Microfiltered) however that does not necessarily guarantee it a superior product as it has a different mineral profile and some people feel the ceramic microfiltered method is a cleaner / more pure manufacturing process.

Milk Protein Isolate 90% is a spray dried milk protein manufactured from fresh skim milk using an ultra-filtration process. Low temperature processing retains this product’s excellent flavor, nutritional, and functional properties. Due to mild processing conditions the natural milk calcium and phosphorus are retain with the protein. Both the casein and whey proteins are recovered in Milk Protein Isolate 90%, producing a protein with high nutritional value and a clean, milky flavor
