Some info some may find interesting -

When talking about hairloss the first point to be remembered is that every individual will be effected in different ways to different steroids. The most important factor is whether or not you are genetically predisposed to male pattern baldness. This can be done by following the family history in the older male generation in your direct family. If you are not predisposed naturally you have the potential of not being effected by steroids, if you are then you are not so lucky and the use of steroids is likely to speed up the process of becoming bald.

Even if you are predisposed there are alot of precautions that can be taken when using steroids to slow down or prevent the hair from falling out. These will be talked about below in general and with specific steroids. Remember certain treatments may be effective with some steroids but may actually speed up the loss when combined with others.

If you are worried about losing hair when cycling it is better to stack items that you know are safe and not to go overboard. It will be difficult to anticipate which steroid is causing the hair loss when using numerous steroids or using ones that havent been used before.

How do you know when you are losing hair? There are several ways to monitor hairloss and when it is starting. Firstly when you wake up examine the sheets and the pillows and determine whether or not there is excess hair there. Also when taking a shower or a bath monitor your hair going down the drain. Another dead give away is an itchyness of the head which can be quite irritating.

There are so many questions asking if primo or deca or anavar will cause hairloss. These questions are pointless in the sense that while primo may be ok for 70 or 80% of the people in can cause devestating consequences in the fewer who may not have the problem on testosterone. It is also dependent on the dose but for sure if higher doses are causing hairloss then so are smaller doses but just not as rapid.

Testosterone: The King of All

Unfortunately this King has known to bring rapid hairloss in large numbers of individuals. The good thing is that hairloss can be controlled very effectively when using finasteride (propecia, proscar). Finasteride inhibits the 5AR enzyme which is responsible for the conversion of testosterone to DHT. For this reason finasteride will work when used with steroids that convert to dht via the 5AR enzyme. On to dHT, in a nut shell it is both hard on the hair as well as to the prostate. Saw Palmetto (SP) is another good prostate relief as well as being very cheap and is also said to reduce dht conversion from testosterone. On precaution if predisposed it is not wise to mix nandrolone with testosterone.

Deca: Hmmmmm

What can be said about this steroid. There is so much misconception that deca is the safest steroid, both on the hair and on the body. Let the myths lie. Although deca does not convert to DHT it does converts to DHN. DHN is less androgenic than deca. The more androgenic the more likely to cause hairloss but this is somewhat a generalisation as androgenic activity is not the only influence of hair loss. Proscar and deca do not mix well. The reason for this was touched upon above "For this reason finastride will work when used with steroids that convert to dht via the 5AR enzyme." Now if the conversion of nandrolone to DHN is prevented then there is more active nandrolone (which is by far more androgenic than nandrolone. If you are noticing hairloss when on deca it is best to discontinue use.

Spironolactone or flutamide (applied topically) are effective in treating and limiting some damage on the hairline. They are both said to compete with the steroid used for androgen receptors located in the scalp.

DHT Derivatives

Winstrol does not convert to DHT although it is a DHT derivative, this is also the case with primobolan. To Finasteride or not to finastride? Well I mentioned above that Finasteride will only work to prevent the conversion of DHT by the 5AR enzyme. It wont do much to reduce hair loss on these because they are already a DHT derivitives. The hairloss is much to do with it stimulating the androgen receptors in the scalp. The best way to treat hair problems on these steroids are with Spironolactone or flutamide. Nizorol shampoo (or similar) is also good to some extent. Dont be fooled by either winstrol or primo. They can both be quite harsh on the hair.

Lastly there are certain topical solutions that can be used to try and bring about regrowth of hair.

Very nice post. Just remember God made a few perfect heads, the rest are covered in hair!

NIOXIN is a good product to remove dht from the scalp. It is sold at walmart in the beauty shop not with the other shampoos.

good one. surely must remeber it since I'm still quite young but rapidly going bald, so the jokes about it are becoming more numerous.

Don't worry bro, I started at 18. Bothered me at first, now I get complements. It's all how you carry yourself anyway.

well I find it depends. I look quite aggresive with my hair shaved of. some people like it, but many don't. I still think I looked a lot nicer with more hair and my succes with the ladies was surely bigger than it is now.

another question

if you only are running test......then if you take finasteride and anastrozole - will this limit hair loss and water retention and gyno yet still have good gains?

any contra indications for not taking finasteride (proscar) with anastrozole at the same time?

thanks

thanks - any one else have any experience? sirben - what dosages are you taking and how much test are you on?

have you done any bloodwork while on to see if your estroge is in normal range or if it is below normal while on the nolva? I am trying to get correct dosage before I start.

any one else??

any one else have experience with arimidex and finasteride at the same time while on test?

Hair loss...what i have tried

Hair loss is a pain in the ass to deal with, heres what iv been doing about it.

I love fina so i try to include it in all of my cycles, i have done 3 cycles that include fina; and one that was only fina and have had hair problems on EVERY ONE!

Right now im running prop and fina - and on the last 4 weeks of my cycle (most of the time this is were i get my best results) and have just now started getting the hair loss.
)
I started Finasteride( an oral hair treatment, cost about 50$ a month with a perscription) about 2 months before my cycle. The hair loss im getting now is to much and im very tempted to stop the cycle...

This will be my last fina cycle, il will have to stick with test only cycles and see what happens.

WHAT ABOUT EQ?????? IS IT CONVERTED TO DHT??? OR DHN?

besides running just test what else is easy on the hair?

HAIR LOSS AND DIFFRENT CYCLES

WHATS BEEN YOUR EXPERINCE WITH CYCLES AND HAIR LOSS?
GOOD ONES AND BAD ONES

I have had to stop do to hair lost... i ran for 6 weeks fina 75 eod and test prop 400 per week ....gained over 20lbs and cut my body fat bY 4 % so it wasnt a total waist.

HAS ANY ONE TRIED ONLY TEST WITH FINASTERIDE??

AND WHAT WAS THE RESULTS? I AM THINKING IT IS THE FINA THAT AFFECTS MY HAIRLOSS MORE THAN THE TEST IN MY CASE...JUST BECAUSE OF MY PAST HISTORY.

I am also doubleing the amount of finasteride perscribed ( i went over this with my doctor-she couldnt say do it but she didnt see any reason why not try)

winstrol and proviron together, talk about shedding some hair, I'll never do that again. I've also heard masteron will also make your hair fall out quickly, though I've never tried it, I hear it's like liquid DHT.

right now i'm using an anti dht shampoo "revivogen" any body else using it. I've only been using it for a week or two so it's still to early to tell, but it definately feels like its doing something. It also smells like a medicine cabinet out of the bottle, but it doesn't make your hair smell bad after you rinse it out. Here's a list of the ingredients in revivogen shampoo.

Active Ingredients

The active ingredients of Revivogen® are natural compounds proven to inhibit 5-Alpha-Reductase (the enzyme that produces DHT), block the androgen receptors and stimulate hair growth. These active ingredients include Gamma Linolenic acid (GLA), Alpha Linolenic acid (ALA), Linoleic Acid, Oleic Acid, Azaleic acid, Vitamin B6, Zinc, Saw Palmetto Extract, Beta-Sitosterol and Procyanidin Oligomers. Revivogen® is the only product that contains these ingredients in one easy to use topical formula..

GLA, ALA, Linoleic Acid and Oleic Acid
Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), Linoleic and Oleic Acid are essential fatty acids found in plant oils. These fatty acids have been individually proven to inhibit 5-Alpha Reductase. In fact these are the most powerful inhibitors of 5-Alpha Reductase known today and not only they inhibit the Type II form of the 5-Alpha Reductase which other products like Propecia® inhibit, but also the Type I form of the enzyme which is present in high concentrations in the scalp, sebaceous glands, and the skin. Additionally GLA, ALA and Oleic acid have potent anti-inflammatory properties. Publications

Azelaic Acid, Vitamin B6 and Zinc
Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring dicarboxylic acid found in whole grain cereals, rye, and barley and animal products. It is FDA approved as a topical preparation for treatment of acne and is effective against a number of other skin conditions when applied topically. There is strong scientific evidence that Azelaic Acid and Zinc are potent inhibitors of 5-Alpha-Reductase. When Azelaic acid, Vitamin B6 and Zinc Sulfate where added together at very low concentrations, 90% inhibition of 5 Alpha-Reductase activity was obtained. The synergistic activity of these compounds against 5-Alpha-Reductase makes this combination very effective in treatment of male pattern baldness.

By combining GLA, ALA, Linoleic Acid, Azelaic acid, Vitamin B6, Zinc Sulfate and Saw Palmetto extract, we have created a natural yet extremely powerful anti-DHT formula. These ingredients work through different mechanisms to synergistically inhibit both type 1 and 2 forms of 5-Alpha Reductase and decrease DHT locally. By decreasing the DHT levels, hair follicles can grow and thicken naturally, leading to a fuller, healthier scalp without the side effects associated with synthetic drugs. Publications

Saw Palmetto Extract
Saw palmetto has been extensively studied over the past several years for the treatment of enlarged prostate in men ( BPH ). Saw Palmetto extract which is a known anti-androgen is the liposerolic extract of the fruit of Saw Palmetto.

Saw Palmetto has shown to effectively block the formation of DHT and is also believed to block the androgen receptors which are found on the hair follicles. Like GLA and ALA it also blocks Type 1 and Type 2 forms of 5 alpha-reductase and has shown to be more potent than Finasteride, the active ingredient of Propecia. Publications

Procyanidin Oligomers
Procyanidin Oligomers (also known as Proanthocyanidin) are naturally derived ingredients that have shown to stimulate hair growth similarly to Minoxidil (Rogaine®). Recent studies by Japanese scientists have shown that Procyanidin Oligomers possess growth stimulation activity toward hair epithelial cells in vitro and stimulate anagen induction in hair follicles in vivo. Addition of Procyanidin Oligomers to Revivogen is intended to increase the hair growth stimulation properties of the formula Publications

Gamma Linolenic Acid, Alpha Linolenic Acid, and Linoleic Acid
In the following studies, Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA), Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA), and Linoleic Acid were shown to be the most potent known inhibitors of type 1 and 2 forms of 5-alpha reductase and highly effective in decreasing the levels of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), when applied topically. More importantly this is accomplished without affecting any systemic effects.

The study further suggests that these fatty acids can be useful in the treatment of disorders related to dihydrotestosterone including male pattern baldness, acne, and excessive female body hair (hirsuitism).

Azelaic Acid, Vitamin B6 and Zinc Sulfate
This article published in British Journal of Dermatology demonstrated that when Azelaic acid, Zinc Sulfate and Vitamin B6 where combined at very low concentrations, a 90% inhibition of 5-Alpha Reductase was achieved.

STUDY A: Inhibition of 5alpha-reductase activity in human skin by zinc and Azelaic acid.

Saw Palmetto
In the following studies Saw Palmetto extract was shown to inhibit both type 1 and 2 forms of 5 alpha-reductase (Finasteride or Propecia® only inhibits type 2), was more potent than Finasteride and was able to effectively reduce binding of Testosterone and DHT to their receptors on various tissues. Please note that in the following studies Saw Palmetto Extract is referred to as Permixon or lipido-sterol extract of Serenoa repens (LSESr)

Procyanidin Oligomers
In the following studies Procyanidin Oligomers have shown to activate hair follicle growth.

STUDY A: Procyanidin Oligomers selectively and intensively promote proliferation of mouse hair epithelial cells in vitro and activate hair follicle growth in vivo.

STUDY B: Proanthocyanidins from grape seeds promote proliferation of mouse hair follicle cells in vitro and convert hair cycle in vivo.

it wouldnt be hard to take most of the above as pills

HUmm wonder what kinda results some one would get if they put together most of those active acids and some saw palmetto and took them orally ??
