developing abs

I was wondering how everyone trained abs. I use heavy weight like 10lbs behind my head while doing situps on decline, but i know alot of people that dont use any weight because the say they dont want a muscle belly. is i better to use weight or not? or does it really matter

Heavy weight is 10 lbs? I was doing decline crunches with 2 70 lb dumbbells....

I've since decided that light weight or no weight and higher reps is better.

I believe that doing no weight at all is the proper way to do abs. If you do the exercises properly while breathing correclty, you will get resistance required to build your abs.

I don't really train them that much. I find that they are involved in so many other exercises like squats etc. Plus, you can train them all you want but it all comes down to your bodyfat as I am sure you already know.

i like doing higher reps on abs...50 crunches or situps. on the ab machines in the gym, i go higher weights but still try for 25 reps.

lately I find myself concentrating more on the lateral obliques than the abs, but I still work them some.

don't work abs....and when I lose fat, they're still there, large as life.......I think I'll start twelve weeks out from my first contest to add a little more definition, but for now I'll rely on core stabilizer type exercises to keep them somewhat fit

i wasnt saying 10 lbs was heavy, like i can do only 10 situps with 10 lbs, im saying about fifty to sixty reps with 10 lbs behind my head(not in front of my chest) gets my abs going, anything less doesnt seem to do much.
