Looking to try my 1st cycle, looking for advice/suggestions

I'm looking to start my first cycle within the next few weeks....

I was thinking of just doing 200 mg of deca a week.

I am concerned with any side effects as most newbies are I guess, and I was also wondering if a cycle with just deca will produce good muscle gain?

I am open to any pieces of advice or suggestions.

Sure, you can do a deca-only cycle. I'm doing just that right now and certainly enjoying it. It really depends on how you react to gear. I can't stress this enough to first-timers. I never get deca-dick so that simply isn't an issue for me. In fact, I probably sport more wood on a deca-only cycle than I do when I'm off cycle. Also, for me, deca is NOT easy on my hair...I lose just as much hair with deca than I do with any other androgen, so that may or may not be an issue with you.

You won't experience a tremendous amount of bloat like you can using testosterone. Interestingly, though, I've had more blood pressure problems with deca than I do with test, probably due to significantly elevated hematocrit & hemoglobin levels. But you will make very solid progress and gains if your diet, training, and recovery are all in order.

If you react very favorably to gear like I do, 200mg/wk will be plenty...I'm actually going to knock down my 400mg/wk to 300mg/wk and try to lower my blood pressure a bit. If your body isn't as receptive to gear, then you may not be thrilled with your results. But my position has always been it's better to be safe than sorry. You can always run another cycle with a different dosing schedule.

Advise/suggestion: do more research!

Start research with the following:

1. Deca Dick

2. Replacement dose amount of test for HRT patients.

Also a little history about yourself would be helpful to any suggestions you get back. Height, weight, bodytype, lifting experience, bodyfat%, etc.

Run test with the Deca. My 1st was 400 mgs Test E and 200 mgs deca for 10 weeks, worked way beyond my expectations.
Stats would definately helpout, age, height, weight, Body fat if available.
Do your research and if you have a question ask, remember EAT, train and rest !!!
 
I agree stats and goals are very helpful also your age

deca is great but I would run test of some kind with it ! and 200mg is prolly way to low I would say 300mg or maybe even 400mg and 400mg test

stats are as follows:
6'0'' tall
around 200 pounds
23 years old
around 19% bodyfat

I have been lifting for about 6 years now.

My goals I guess are to add about 10-15 pounds of muscle and maybe cut some body fat.
 
good goals there bro...good size.....gaining 10-15 pounds of muscle will be good...and trying to cut fat..well with deca and test you going to put on water weight...I am sure u are aware of that...if u are looking to kinda cut up a little.....try some eq..instead of deca...I like deca though personally... a lot better mass gainer for me!!! just my 2 cents...I would run test and deca at 400mg a week..that's what I did my first cycle..and ran 30mg of dbols first 4 weeks and blew up 38 pounds..good luck bro, and happy cycling...
 
I'm going to go against the flow and say you aren't ready to cycle yet. Time for a reality check.

If you stated your stats correctly, you are 6', 200 lbs and 19% BF. It's the 19 that really bothers me. You've stated that you have been training for 6 years. That's good but the progress you've made (based on your stats) is lacking. If you were an ecto and had trouble gaining weight it would be a different story, but ecto's don't get to be 19% bf. Frankly there is something in your training/diet that is wrong or lacking that I think you may be looking for the quick fix for.

Sorry to be so blunt and it's not a flame. If I were you I'd diet down to 12% over the next few weeks and then start.

BTW: If you overestimated your BF or accidently hit a '1' (in front of the '9') then disregard the above.

I agree with LA 100%.

IMO 6'0 @ 200 with 19%bf is not too much muscle mass and you could get to 12%bf naturally. All it takes is a little hard work and dedication which I don't think you've been putting 100% into this.

You need to fix your diet and training before starting AAS. If you don't have your diet down you'll be terribly disappointed with your results from taking AAS.

I think you should ask some advice on training naturally first then once you hit a huge wall with progress then ask for some advice on taking AAS.

Just my opinion...
 
OK, welcome to MC.....and I agree with choke if you're going to cycle anyway regardless of what anyone else tells you

Just make sure you're trying the gear for the right reasons.....it's NOT going to melt the fat away like you think it will, your diet'll do that. My advice? Do a little more research on the subject...if you do a deca only cycle, you'll most likely be dissappointed with the results

I may have overestimated my bf%, the 19% was really just a somewhat educated guess.

How would I go about finding out my bf% for sure??

I would definitely put off my first cycle if my bf% is for sure too high. I want to do things right the first time.
 
Your gym should offer bodyfat percentage testing...if not, you can get a general idea by buying a pair of fifteen dollar calipers from GNC...they are accurate enough to let you know about where you are

IMO, the first time out is the most important anyway....your receptor sites are fresh and clean
