OVT Program underway!

Just thought I would share with you guys. Me and my lifting partner are half way thru week 3 of the Optimized Volume Training program that was in Testosterone magazine. Harvey Balboner posted on the transformation of Christian T. a couple months ago if you remember that and this was the program he was on. I just wanted to let you guys know that this program is an ASSKICKER. If followed correctly you should absolutely be seeing results FAST. We have had several people in the gym saying they can see a difference already. Saying that, I don't usually follow programs in magazines as I feel most bodybuilding magazines are shit faced liars. But if you are looking for a spark in your training routine, try this mofo for 4 weeks. My partner and I did modify it a little to our tastes as far as the days are concerned (switched shoulder day with leg day and vice versa), but have followed to a T otherwise.

Gander, can you post the workout or a link? I have been doing HIT for a while and could use a good volume training program.

Anyone else try this program?

I usually have a hard time with high volume workouts because of overtraining.
 
I'd have to say, I had better results when I had a workout partner period. Let alone following a routine
 
Kiss go to www.t-mag.com and put in OVT in the search feature and you will find the program. He does warn about overtraining too. What we are doing is a 4 week program, then normal lifting for 2 weeks and then another 4 week program. Also, on this program you only lift 4 days a week, we are doing Mon, Tue, Thur & Sat. What the program asks you to do is 3 sets per superset the 1st week, 4 sets per superset the 2nd week, and 5 sets per superset wks 3 &4. This kind of eases you into it somewhat. The hardest thing is trying to figure out how much weight to use. Like on bench Monday I started out at 345 for the first set and by set 5 I was down to 255 and strugglin'. After the first week though you will have your weights and timing down. I have read alot about HIT, what are your thoughts on it? Are you liking it?
 
HIT is great for me, I tend to overtrain easily. I have gotten much stronger and put a good deal of weight on but am plateauing. I do low volume now, so I'm wondering how I would react to higher volume. I'm just thinking I would overtrain with OVT. Any symptoms of this for you Gander?
 
No symptoms yet, but I am making sure I am eating right, getting enough sleep, etc... I think you could handle 4 weeks couldn't ya? Like I said too, you only lift 4 days a week. I usually lift 5- 6 days a week.
 
I don't lift more than 4 days/week now. I am definitely going to give it a shot for 4 weeks, I'll let you know how it goes.
