get this, I go to GOLD's gym (not some shitty local only gym) on tuesday and it is closed down for a week.....and get this.....BECAUSE THEY DIDN"T PAY THEIR TAXES!

what a load of crap! Should I take action when they open tomorrow? I dont think I should have to pay for a month of use when they are only open for 3 weeks of the month. I think it is shitty that a company who charges so much to start and each month to not pay taxes. And gold's is supposed to be #1....yea, #1 at not paying uncle sam.
 
I'd bitch up a storm. At least get some free workout drinks out of it.
 
They are only as good as the owner. If they are having problems I would see about getting out of your contract. We had three gyms close here recently because they didn't pay their taxes. A friend went to the gym and he found a note left by the city saying closed. If you don't want to get out of your contract I would make a fuss about a credit for the week. Unfourtunately I doubt they will do anything about it. Good luck

ATLEAST U DIDNT BUY A MEMBERSHIP AND HAVE THE GUY CLOSE THE GYM FOR GOOD THE NEXT WEEK LIKE ME AND MY FRIEND DID LOL
 
yea, I think I want out of my contract before they close for good. I have been there over a year and really liked it. There is another gym close by that is an independant one. The only cool thing about golds was that I got tanning for free. back to pasty.
 
I'd find another gym. The Golds here in my neighborhood just closed down from bad management. I'd find something locally owned thats been there a while. Just my .02 J.R.
 
Start leaving your weights laying around when you are done with them. Bitch;bitch;bitch and Look for another gym. Our Gold's just switched mgmnt, and things seem to be getting better. I guess it is just where you are?
 
UPDATE

well, they are STILL closed...I called the one in south arlington cause they are getting all the calls.

they said they can't do anything because it has to be handled via the actual gym I go to....translation: they dont want to lose members. I am supposed to wait until (IF) they open again for a refund/cancellation...FUCK THAT.

I call to get the acount draft stopped....can't do it. So I have to call my credit union and cancel the card they draft on. WHAT FUCKING BULLSHIT. They better hope they dont open again. I will get hit with one more charge which aint bad, but I still want that $30 bucks back (for the month they are closed) and want to bitch about the trouble of cancelling a card and having to wait for a new one......never again with I do account draft.

Im just gonna throw a brick through there window about 3 in the morning. :D MUAHAHAHAHA!
 
Prefer Powerhouse here. The gym owner at one here in STL has turned it around completely. He even supplies hand towls for the clients.
 
no powerhouse around here....i have never seen one....probably only one in downtown here in BIG D

no joke man if my gym did that id throw a brick through the window and steal some equipment just for personal satisfication
 
If I were going to steal equiptment it would be for personal use. But $30 is not worth jail time unless your a pipehead, Powerhouse is the bomb.
 
I'm still tripping on the fact that you're paying only 30 dollars a month......I was in Las Calinas last month and the 24hr fitness place I went to was going to charge me $100 for 3 weeks!

damn, one is almost an hour away, and the other is almost an hour away. I live in grand prairie and we have nothing but junk yards and beaners here....go figure. I guess the local gym will have to do, but they have a basketball court and swimming pool and even gold's didn't have that.....I dont think gold's is reopening at all (said on the news) so all members with account draft will have to do the same thing I will or they will keep getting charged..

I wish I was a lawyer so I could sue them or something but I guess the brick is the next best thing.
