On the gear for TOO LONG!

One of my best friends who doesn't compete in fighting/lifting/bodybuilding or anything has been on a cycle of Tren and Equipose from Jan to March. He came off for a month and is now back on Test/Tren/EQ since April until end of July. He said he is taking a break for a month and going back on in September. Is this healthy? ALthough i'm a newbie to the forum, i know this can't be good for ya. I could understand maybe if he had some big shows/fights but just for the hell of it or to impress chicks? I tried to tell him that he's gonna fuck himself up but he just said "Pro Bodybuilders do this shit year round, i'll be ok" He's only like 25 and this is like his 5th cycle. I think he's hooked, like he can't train w/out the shit. Makes me kinda worried that i'll get hooked like him.
P.S. I must admit, the dude is HUGE!

Give me the low down fellas, i'm pretty sure that he is not being smart about this stuff, but then again, maybe this is common?

I assume he is not taking anything like clomid, Hcg, slin etc during his time off? Taking 1 mo off at a time just will not give your system ANY recovery time of the HTPA etc so as ugly as it may seem he might as well stay on constantly at least that way his levels should stay steady. Time on should= time off at a minimum! You are correct that he is going to do himself some possible permanant damage. He should come to this sight and do himself some research!

No one but the pros know what the pros really do - that's just an excuse to stay on. But what I have seen some pros post is that they (the pro making the post) take about 3 months off following the contest season, and don't lose much if any strength/size. The pro I remember making the statement I believe said that he used to year round, and see much better results doing it the way he does now.

BTW, is he getting any lab work done, or anything else to monitor his health?

No guys, my buddy doesn't really research the shit, just thinks he knows what he's doing. He does taked clomid, nolvadex and hcg too.
What kind of permanent damage will he do? Heart, Liver, Kidneys, prostate?

There is a guy where I work out who's been on at least 6 months now. He is having problems with stress fractures I heard. I would hate to see some labs on that guy. Your friend is going to end up in a hospital if he's not careful. I think it is possibe he has bigorexia. Sounds silly but the opposite of annorexia. Being patient, eating clean, and realizing your body has limits is the key in this game.

a friend of mine has been on since september 2001 without a break. he gets blood work done regularly and everything is within normal ranges. however, he generally just does the testosterones, sometimes a little deca. moderate doses, too, under a gram per week.

He still growing? I know you can do it safely but more than the physical issues I worry about the psycoligical. You stay around these boards long enough you see a lot of guys burn out. Not physically but mentally

true, there is the psychological component to think about. he is still growing slowly, but steadily. he always says he's going to come off for a few months, but when the time comes he gets cold feet and just "cruises" with 200 or 250mg of test for a few weeks.

i can see myself staying on test year round before long for hrt purposes. i'll do it more like this: low maintenance dose most of the year (200mg/week or so) with 2 10-12 week cycles totalling 1-1.2g total per week...

I am thinking of doing the same-My test levels were very low last time I checked-And I had been clean for 5 months.

i hate this topic, it is so controversial. it may very well be possible that one who is on moderate doses of a.a.s. for exentended periods of time will always return to normal after prolonged cessation of the drugs. Look at women who take birth control for years at a time while only taking one week off a month (which is their placebo week), these women are playing around with their estrogen levels but when they stop taking these drugs for what ever reason, their bodies usually return to what is called a level of HOMEOSTASIS which is your bodies natural way of always trying to compensate one way or another to be in chemical balance. would this hold true for a A.A.S. user? who knows? I believe that there should be a period that the user should cease administration of the drugs but for how long is anyones guess or hypothesis. there are individuals who have used drugs for periods of more than 18 months and have returned their endocrine and other systems back to normal over time. Im not saying that you should stay on for these long periods, just do your research. find out what effects different drugs have on your system, such as adverse reactions, half-lifes, etc.

of course that's just my opinion, i could be wrong.

Nice stumpy, that is some good shit man. This topic is interesting, i wonder what really happens to the body. I wonder if it is the same for men and women in regards to birth control and stuff like that.

Even in the realm of HRT, a clinic will advise you to have some off time for recovery. At least that has been my experience, even at rather low maintenence levels. 200mg/wk for example. The suggested time off is less for these amounts, but it is seen as needed for the body to recover and produce whatever level it can naturally. Not all clinics may recommend this, but the one I've dealt with does.

I have personal friends who have used constantly for years without a break and are essentially quite healthy. Their usage has been moderate, ie. oil-based test and deca/EQ with the occasional "spike" of something like an oral or something like winny.

The guys I am thinking of have their blood checked now and then but the dosages are moderate and therefore the health risks APPEAR to be quite low. I say appear coz no-one really knows do they??

My personal preference is the 8 week on/4 week off approach advocated by Trevor Smith (love him or hate him he still knows his shit on cycle theory).

Having said that I have been clean for 18 months now due to concentrating on work and family commitments. Still holding 110 kg (240 pounds or thereabouts) and I am about to start cycling again as i intend to return to competition in Sept 2004.

I will be using the 8 week on/ 4 week off approach for my off season and then a 14-16 week approach when dieting (depending on how long I need to get in shape).

Will post my experiences so that others can share if interested.
