Will walking do anything?

Right now, I choose to walk to work each day. I could use public trans. but I enjoy walking, it's peacefull.

The walk to work is about 2.25 miles. I also walk home.

Being that I run for cardio, is the walk really doing anything for me? Should I just save that energy for the gym?
 
In my opinion...I definately feel that the walking does something...you are almost walking 5 miles a day. Depending on your current goals, this is good or bad. If you are looking to bulk, I would cut out the walking for a bit...otherwise I think it is a good thing, and it sounds like you enjoy it. The only thing I would add is that you might want to not walk on leg days.

Again, all this is just my opinion.

I commend you for walking to work. I see so many FAT poeple who won't walk a block to a neighbor or something similar.
