water control

Hey all...

I read that the last few days before a contest.... you should drink 8 liters for a few days, then 6 liters, then 4 liters... then the last day drink absolutely nothing for 8-10 hours before the show... but carb up that morning.

I was just curious if you usually do cardio or tanning or anything to help dehydrate yourself on that last day when you aren't drinking anything.

Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,

i have arimidex... i could up it for the last couple days... but again... any advice would be great.

no cardio and no tanning before the show bro, just play with the diuretic and water intake

if you cant get script diuretics, dandelion root and taraxatone are good natural diuretics, also caffeine is great too.....me personally I taper my water but some others dont, I have found that tapering dries me out better and physiologically it makes more sense.

never heard of anyone who does cardio one day off.
personally i stop cardio 2 weeks prior of contest day if i stripped out almost all fat; but i also ran cardio till first day of carbing up.
when u begin carbing up, don't consume glycogen training or making cardio.

about water control i think it is the worst variable, the most difficult to take under control: u have to pass between trial and errors and then understand what works best for u.
try to learn as much as u can about:electrolitic balance, cell hosmosys, behaviour of the kidney, diuretics.once u understand the mechanism it will be easier

personally i don't taper down water.i go on keeping my water intake high during carb day (adjusting according to my condition) and try to cut off at about afternoon of 1 day off.
if u make all things properly(water intake, sodium potassium intake)diuretics could be uneuseful i mean u expell almost all extracellular water by your self
bye

Thanks for the advice all. I'm far from being competition quality now... but I am finishing up a cutting cycle and want to take some comparison photos and thought this would be good experience to try for the future if I ever get good enough to compete.

Again - thanks!
