im going in for an operation the last week in Dec. and the doctor tell me i cant ressume my training for 3 weeks which sucks..however, is there anything i can to minmize my muscles loss and sort of "pause" where im at now. i heard l-gulatmine works but is there anything else?

I just had surgery on my hand and was out of the gym for 3 weeks, back now but still very limited as to what I can do. I dropped 10 lbs in bodyweight over the past month. Of course I soent the 1st 2 weeks druuged up on pain killers which also killed my appetite, that could account for some of the loss. So try to keep the food and protein intake high, just watch that you don't get too fat if inactive.

you could try IGF-1

3 weeks isn't that long, you may want to just make it a point to continue eating to minimize muscle loss, and call it a break

of course that means you have to hit it hard when you return

good luck bro

Oddly enough it is one of the prescribed medical uses of Anadrol to help heal after surgery. The desirable side effect would be less muscle loss.

Anadrol would be god but doubt they would prescribe it unless severe cases of wasting, burns or aids unless a good receptive Dr. which is like finding a virgin in the playboy mansion.

I looked on www.walgreens.com pharmacy page and american a-bombs are almost $1,500.00 per 100!

Clomid was 10 tabs 50mg for $110.00!!!

Keep protein up I never did gh but if you can afford many claim it keeps muscle on and as mentioned about most important is keeping protein intake up and eating good, don't let pain meds make ya not eat.

I don't use narcotic pain meds for this reason.

Check this out brand name costs from Walgreens!!

when i had surgery in 8th grade on my shoulder i remember that i was a young lad and just started lifting, i wole up in the recovery room and thought that if i flexed my forearm and flexed my bicep that i would minimize my muscle loss!! haha...fat chance on that, i came out with a what i thought was big left arm and a twig for a right arm in just 2 days. amazing how much we use our muscles everyday. the human body is a miracle and wonder.

so to answer your question, there really isnt much out there, but i think igf-1 is a good option. any chance on the doc prescribing that or gh? is this insurance paid or not?
