Best workout ever...

Guys and gals,

Lets hear about your best workout of all time, or at least a really good / memorable one. One were you had intimate conversations with God or when you answered the question, "Who's your Daddy?!?!?" LOL We're talking those workouts when Ronnie C, if here were watching, would have been said you made it look like "nuttin' but a peanut."

I had a memorable moment a couple weeks ago. (NOTE: I live in the desert and get nosebleeds all the time now - BP is OK - so I was suprised that it had never happened when training.) Was doing partial deads and worked up to 545, looking for a set of six. I picked up the weight, lowered it and noticed a tingling on my lip. Did my second rep and then looked in the mirror to see a RIVER of blood dripping down my face and over my beard. My face was beet red, my eyes bulgin' like an alien's and every friggin' vein in my body was stickin' out. I said under my breath, "phuk this shit" and went on.

BY the time I had finished all 6 reps, the powerrack was covered in blood, as was my face and front of my body. It was glorious. I walked to get a paper towel, trying not to drip on the floor or blow fresh blood across the room as I tried to catch my breath.

A little clean-up (w/ lysol on the power rack of course), a new shirt and I was good to go. The rest of the workout was BALLS to the WALL, but no more bleeding (damnit).

Since I can't top that session, I will sit back down and keep my mouth shut.

I have a large scar on my left knee and while doing Deads in shorts noticed I had evulsed the entire scar with it still slightly attched at the bottom of my knee. I finished my Set and stuck it back where I thought it belonged. Thank God I save Deads for the end of my Back Workouts. I no longer do Deads in shorts.

I can't top the deadlift stories but I have my one best workout.......Went to the gym with my cousin and one of my boys......we decided to do one rep max for bench......I warmed up with 135.....then I went right to 225 for a couple....then 305 for a couple....now I had NEVER benched that much in my life and I was shit shocked and surprised when I did it....then we added 20lbs and I did that no prob.....then we bumped to 355 and I did that no prob....at this point I'm shaking like a leaf and getting a bit emotional since this was such a big deal for me......we set up 375 and unfortunately I couldn't get that bad boy up........I had to go sit in a bathroom stall for 5 minutes afterwards to calm myself down.

Need to get back to that weight again in the next 3 months or so.

10 sets of 10 reps with squats. Sets 1-6 weren't too bad, but after that, we had to get on our knees and pray before each set that we would make it without crumbling down!

I got in the gym late last week and only had 45 minutes to do quads so I warmed up with light squats then super setted hacks with lunges until I could hardly stand up any more. Finished with some leg extensions. I was out in 40 minutes. I could hardly drive home after that my legs were so shakey.

KidRok,

Ah yes, German Volume Training!!! I love that shit!

Ever do the old Cybergenics Program?... LEg day was atrocious. The program was a 3 day split, training 6 days / week. 1st three were low carb, so Thursday - 2nd round of legs after 3 days of low carb - was a BITCH!.

Here's legs:
SQUATS - DO THE BELOW 4 (FOUR) times:
Squat to positive and negative failure w/ spotters help
Drop wt. to pos and neg. failure
Drop w.t to pos and neg failure
Deep jumps (touch ground and jump up) until unable to jump
'Bodyweight squats until UNABLE TO STAND UP.
PULL yourself up and do BW squat negatives UNTIL UNABLE TO STAND (basicaly you can't stand up w/o falling down)!
Stretch and contract thighs maximally for 30 seconds

TWO TIMES:
Double drop set (pos and neg failure) knee extension
Supersetted w/t double drop set (+ and - failure) leg curl
Stretch and contract thighs maximally for 30 seconds

CALVES:
FIVE TIMES (many six, can't recall)
Quadruple Drop set (+ and - failure) calf raise
Stretch and contract calves maximally for 30 seconds

ABS: 3 - 4 triple drop sets - weighted crunch varieties.
Stretch and contract abs maximally for 30 seconds

Talk about overtraining, man. Was and still is the hardest program I have ever done. (Even harder than doing 20 sets of 20 reps on the squat.)

OH MY GOD!! Cybergenics.... Now, I am dating myself. Remember when it was first called Biogenics and then they went belly up and changed the name to cybergenics? I bought that shit and they only sent about 4 bottles out of the 12 or so.

That giant set training program was rediculous. I couldn't get through the tricep workout let alone the quad workout. lol

yep I bought a cybergenics kit...must have been when I was like 18 or 19....yes a VERY long time ago!!!! lol

What a grand feeling, man. Awesome.

Now ya got me thinking...

I detached a retna while squating a double with 725lbs. personal best and worst all at the same time....

SM,

Shit, Dude. Glad it was OK. Remember when Sugar Ray Leonard had the same. IS there a risk of it coming detached again?...

Made me remember squatting this Monday. I was doing a 20 repper with 545 (a PR - gonna go with the same weight next time, though. last rep sucked ass, so lets call it a 19 repper) - around rep # 12 or so, I started to see colors and things started getting darker. Then I realized that I couldn't remember breathing for the whole set. I started taking breaths, but needless to say, I was breathin' pretty damn hard afterward... LOL

Skip, you shoulda pushed it, man. I looked JUST like Franco Santoriello after my 8 weeks on Cybergenics. LOL

Man, it was sooo pitiful - Horribly overtrained. But I looked the best I ever had. I grew like a weed afterwards, too.
