Who is your favorite 'old school' bodybuilder

I am bored. lol

When I first got into bodybuilding (or early on, anyway), I admired Rich Gaspari as he seemed to be a complete freak at the time and yet was not so big that it seemed unattainable. He always ran in the top 3 and was always conditioned - ALWAYS.

It was the Francis Benfatto thread that got me thinking.

What about Berry DeMey or Mohammad Mackaway (sp?).

Ahhhh, I love the good old days.

I started off admireing Milo Sarcevs physique then I moved over to the old kevin Levrone physique but now that I am bigger and older I suppose it isnt enough and im admiring much bigger guys, not so much the blocky guys but rather the astheticaly pleasing ohysiques that are extremely massive, I liked flex wheelers physiques a few years abck also, never the Rhules of the sport or atwoods, lol, never!

I realy am pleased with the look of tony freeman last year or so ago, and richard jones looks awsome as well

Platz, Gaspari, Labrada and Haney, of course are some that come to mind. Not nec. in that order, and for different reasons.

Platz - 10 minutes of squating 225, without stopping.
Gaspari - Mental freak - manifested in his physique and conditioning
Labrada - thinking man's BB'er. Balance and symmetry
Haney - Freaky-ass wingspan

"The Myth" Sergio Oliva - just old school tough motherfucker who should have beat Arny when Arny got his 6th Mr. O title(Politics)

Gaspari, but to bad he has the personality of a walnut.

Didja read the stories that Franco Columbo tells in the latest Flex?... Lots of cool old school stuff. He tells one about the day after a show when he, Arnold and Oliva were sharing a hotel room. Franco heres the bed springs going crazy the morning after the show and things Sergio is getting lucky. He peeks in and there's Sergio, doing triceps dips to "Get ready" for the photoshoot they had later that day.

The man was / is a machine.

No, but i'll have to check that one out. thanks

I guess I'm older than most here. When I think old school favorites Mike Mentzer and Lou Farigno come to mind. Later it was guys like Barry DeMay, Gary Strydom and Rich Gasparri.
