mineral ice, ben gay

I was just wondering why you cannot apply heat when you have mineral ice, icy hot ect. on.

Is the combination damaging, or is it because you couldn't feel if you were burning your skin w/ the mineral ice on.

I found out the hard way from using tiger's balm immediately after a hot shower and getting a bad heat rash in the area I applied it..so I asked my doc about it.
