do any of you think that soy protein has any muscle rebuilding capabilities or should you just stick with whey all the way.

I have always read and been told that soy protein inhibits testosterone production to a degree-I have always stayed away from the stuff(soy)-I think i read that about 10 years ago...I like whey, egg whites and whole eggs, and lots and lots of good ole USDA BEEF, BEEF, and more BEEF.1.5 pounds sirloin per day(and a half gallon of Breyers Vanilla Bean ice cream EOD....

woman use soy supplements to help stablize estrogen levels, Soy contains the isoflavones genistein and daidzein, which have weak estrogenic effects.
So personally, I would avoid it, besides being inferior to whey it may increase estrogen levels.

I heard it would cause muscle tissue break down or makes one thinner by increasing weight loss. Good for women.

I knew a guy (from a list serve years ago) who, for financial reasons and extreme lactose intolerance (before good isolates were around) who started developing gyno from taking in lik 200 g of soy protein / day. He figured it out before it was too late.

A little soy is likely not a problem, but if I had to choose 1 it wouldn't be soy.

I have recently switched my protein blend to another blend that has soy (soy isolate) in it as one of 5 proteins. I love the stuff. I figure that I get about 225g of my daily protein (about half of my daily total) from this protein powder and I LOVE the stuff. I have noticed no negative change in my condition and this blend is drawn out much longer than my other blend. It also tastes unbelievably good, too.

I would not recommend going with straight soy, either, especially in high amounts. However, if it is in a blend I don't think it will cause any negative sides.

Just my opinion......

right now , i am using a 40 % whey , 30 % caseinate , 15 % egg and 15 % soy combo , i feel thats a pretty decent combo to go with ..
