Speed training (running)

Does or has anyone ever used a parachute while sprinting or perhaps dragged an old tractor tire while running on the field?

I ask because I want to play some football for a JC and wanted to know what kind of time I could cut off my 40. Right now I could have the size of a Fullback or Middle Linebacker but I just need to work on speed.

hey bro, if you can get a sled that would be best. forget the parachute, too impractical. but yeah, i tire would be good. if you really want to shave time off of your 40....work on your starts. You have to increase your stride length and frequency to become faster. Pulling things(tractor tire, parachute) will definitely increase frequency....to increase stride length...you need to use "overspeed" which you can do by funning down hill....yeah its easier, but it makes you really stride out....do those two things...but not on the same day. Practice your starts everyday.....use the sled or tire when you do starts....just make sure there is no slack in the rope or chain cuz you could hurt yourself. Oh, and regardless of what anyone tells you, Strength Shoes DO work, they are great!
