Gym accidents II - Unloading barbells

Here's another gym accident that happened during Friday's workout. I'm using one of the back machines and I hear a crash of plates falling on the ground and look over and see a younger kid holding a 45lb plate hanging his head with embarassment. He was squatting (I think) with 315lbs and when he was finished he unloaded all 3 plates off from one side of the barbell which made the bar fly up and slam the other 3 plates down on a plate tree next to it. It bent one of the arms on the tree and made everyone look at him. Needless to say he was out the door very quickly with a valuable lesson learned. The good thing is this will only happen one time to him!

how can someone be squatting 315 and not have spent enough time in the gym to know that 3 45's on only one side is a guaranteed weight spill?

That reminds me of something i did in the gym. I was unloading the weights off the barbell and i see this chick walking by, so i was watching her and pulling off the 45 and didn't realize that i had a 25 on there and it landed on my foot and broke some toes
