New Year's Resolutions at the Gym

Went into the gym today and it was packed, it hasn't been like this since last January. It's full of people making their annual new year's resolutions about getting into shape this year!!

I try not to get mad when I have to wait for equipment because these people are basically paying the bills for people like me who go to the gym consistantly.

Anyone else seeing the same thing?

I was in the gym tonight and there were at least three times as many people as usual, even on a Monday night. The flat benches and the cardio machines seemed to be the favorites.

same thing at my gym lots of new people
monday was legs so nobody was in the way but the benches were packed
sure it will clear out in a few weeks, days and some may not come back

The gym I go to never really gets crowded but there have been more people than usual. I'm sure it will settle down in a few weeks when people start giving up.

This is normal for most health clubs. January thru March you'll see a push on the memberships then alot of people lose interest or whatever and begin to drop. I used to own a gym and the first 3 months were the busiest. The last 2 are the worst.

yea give em a month and 95% will drop off I hate the busy time of yr.

right about now i'd be happy to be able to go to the gym busy or not.

I dislike when all the benches are crowded, and benchpresses as well.. Don't like people who just train Bi and Chest...

Many of the guys who train where I train don't train legs... so it's pretty easy to find a available Squat rack :)

Hi ronb sorry to hear bro hope all is well.

it's a long recoup! 9 month at least before i can do anything worthwhile. damn. most places have the same type of people who won't break a sweat so legs are out. arms are more noticable to them for some reason.

i need a new approach. time is on my side.

thanks. nothing much i can do after tearing the bicep tendon. Car accidents are scary. you must have been in a real bad one. there is no good one of course. i hate hearing that.

ouch, how did you do this bro lifting I'd imagine.

i was racking some 120's after shrugs. as i moved the bell towards the rack i felt 2 ripping sensations. the bicep tendon came right off the bone! I had surgery on x-mas eve to insert the tendon thru the ulna which means he drilled a hole in the bone. so i'm one armed for about 9 months. i can't use the arm for shit the next 2 weeks. no heavy lifting at all for a few months.
