Who works out w/out a partner?

I personally workout alone (now that I moved away from my previous partner)

I feel like I've lost some strength due not having someone help me through a few negatives

I've been working out alone for over a year now The difference is now I have limits that I know I have to stick to.

I work out alone as well. It sucks because you can't push yourself past the limit unless you like to injure yourself or dump weights all over the place. lol.

I need a workout partner again.

I have trained alone for a while now. I trained with the same guy for 10 years but he's been tied up with a new kid and all that so our schedules just don't work out anymore.

I train alone did have a partner pretty close to same body weight and strength was really a kick in the ass but our time schedules don't match now and I moved.

It was nice to have competition he would do 10 I would do 11 he would do 12 next set it was a competition amounst ourselves and got some of my best workouts in with a partner.

I sorta have a partner but I've realized that life's too short to have an ugly training partner so now I'm interviewing women for the soon to be open position. :)

having a partner is always a plus. the down side is when they decide not to show for days at a time. i've mostly trained by myself. i can depend on me. if i need a spot i'd ask a trainer. they have nothing to do anyway.

I work out alone most of the time.
Suzy-Q and I work out at the same time - but not working together.

I train alone and I prefer it that way. I stay more focused, none of that bullshit talking crap going on between people. Ya gotta go in the gym, hit it with all the intensity ya got, beat your previous lifts and get out to eat!

that's it.......i'm breaking up with you :arcade:

i used to workout with a guy who worked at the gym , he quit the gym for pay related reasons and i couldnt go with him cos the other gym was too far away , so now i'm working out alone for the past 6 months , i cant really train with anyone else cos everyone else is weaker , so i train alone , its fine with me though becos i'm a self motivator ... so all i need is someone to spot me on my heavier sets which i just ask one of the guys around . but using rest pause eliminates the need for a spot somtimes.

Nope, never trained with a partner. I wont even bother asking for spots. I dont feel like bugging people. But I have always wanted a workout partner because I think that my lack of a partner is causing me to have sub par workouts which I think is the reason why my progress is so slow.

Having a work out partner can be good if he or she is on the same level as you. if that person yaks about personal problems then it won't work. When i'm in the gym i need to concentrate on what i'm doing. I now need to be more aware than ever to avoid any more injuries. if i'm listening to someone complain that is not concentrating.

I had a good partner before I moved, but since then I have relearned my limits.

I don't like to bother people in the gym either, so I usually do as much as I can and then drop the weight and do a few more. It seems to work okay, but a partner is the best route in my opinion, provided they are dependable and work as hard as you.

yeah , the main problem is finding people who push themselves as hard as we are willing to , and unfortunately , thats very rare wwhere i train :( .

Training nearly 40 years and I think depending on someone else is not good. I see a few who can do it but if you train with someone else you either don't rest long enough, get distracted talking during rests, or fail to train "instintively" because you "have a routine". I like to decide what I am doing by my energy and strength level and I vary exercises every workout. Most people think they have to do the same exercises every workout and cannot change because they will offend their partner. People just have trouble adapting to change. Also the competitiveness only goes so far and can be responsible for not listening to your body. I would rather train by myself, focus on muscle group and not how much I lift. Why be a slave to someone else's expectations.
