Has anybody self-administered a Lateral Gluteal, also called ventrogluteal, or hip injection? I can find directions for administering it, but if you read them you'll see that it's not possible to self-administer in the way they describe.
e.g.

The reason I'm interested in this is that according to this web site, this is the only other site besides the posterior glute that can accommodate 3 cc's. So supposing you need to inject 9 cc's a week. You can do 3 in the left gluteal, 3 in the right, but there's no other site that can accommodate 3 cc's so you'd have to split it up into three 1cc injections. The lateral gluteal injection would solve that problem. I have also read that it is just as painless as the normal (posterior) gluteal injection, maybe even better.
