First of all, I would like to start off by saying "Hello" to everyone on the board and also tell you that you are the most respectful guys I have seen on a message board in a long time. I really respect that.

Secondly, I have a few questions but before that I would like to give you a few stats.

Stats:

Height: 5'7
Weight: 185 lbs.
BF: Dunno around 18-20%?
Age:21

I am looking to lose weight. I mainly have the most fat on my stomach, love handles, and my quads.

I want to get big (muscle wise) but my main concern right now is losing the weight.

What kind of workout routines should I be looking into? What kind of foods should I be eatting?

Also, I want to take some suppliments/enhancers/etc... What should I look into?

Thanks for all your help!!!

What is your lifting like-Do you lift now? Do you do any cardio? You need to get nutrition and workout help before supplements/enhancers will be useful. Those are tools-first you need to learn how to work before you can use tools.

Yes, I am lifting now. I lift 3 days a week and do cardio about 2 days. I would like to get on a nice dietary plan and a good workout routine. I would like to lift about 4-5 days.

Just ask if you need anymore info.

Thanks.

You need to do the following:

Lift 4-5 days per week. High weight - low reps.

3 sets per excercise. No more than 8 reps per set. If you can do more than 8 reps raise the weight. Do 2-3 excercises per bodypart. Train each bodypart once per week.

Diet - Diet is #1 for losing weight. High protein, fairly low carbs, and moderately low fat. 300-350g protein, less than 100g carbs (about 1/2 of these should be consumed post workout), 100g fat (avoid saturated fats - try to get healthy fats - tuna, nuts, olive oil, flax seed oil, etc)

Cardio - 3 times per week - Whatever you choose. 20-30mins each session. Either do cardio on an empty stomach, or post workout.

Supplements - ECA 2x per day, Protein powder supplements, multi vitamin.

If you need me to explain anything better just ask, but the above program for about 6 weeks should yield some pretty good results.
Post what your excercise program would be based on the suggestions that I gave so I can critique it and make adjustments.

BiggerStronger:

First, Thanks for all your help.

Secondly, Let me know how this looks.

Day 1: Biceps

Day 2: Quads/Legs

Day 3: OFF

Day 4: Triceps

Day 5: Chest

Day 6: OFF

Day 7: Back

Cardio three days a week.

Questions:

I was told that it was better to do low weight/high reps if you are trying to lose weight. I never found out which one was better.

I like the sound of high weight/low reps better.

Also, what is a good ECA? Protein powder? Where can I find it online?

I should consume half of my carbs after my workout?

Thanks again man.

Let me know.

Your workout looks ok, but you forgot shoulder's. You also could probably add tricep's at the end of your chest workout and bicep's with your back workout. It's up to you, it's just a suggestion.

Protein you can get from one of our sponsors Schwartzlabs.com.

I was thinking about adding shoulders to back. Is that okay?

adding them to back day is fine. my current workout has back and shoulders together. If you try it and don't like the workout don't be afraid to move them to another day. You'll have to try a couple of different things to find out what you like best.

Like Mcgwire said the best way to find out what works for you is to dive in. A very effective way to figure out what works for you is to keep a wkout journal and read and adjust as the wks progress.
Good luck bro!

If you trying to loose weight, I think you should up your cardio to 4-5 days week or leave it at 3 days per week but do it twice each of those days (morning and post workout)
