Protien Drink Questions

Okay guys, I've been working out on and off for about two years now and I've gotten a bit toned, but not ripped, or any bulk at all. I have a stream of questions about PWOs and what not.

Ok first..is it true that your body can only take in 40gs of protien per serving? Anymore than that is simply not used and wasted?

Is it also true that in order to get big..and fast, is to consume as much protien as you weight, like, a gram a pound?

Ok..now, I bought two things of ON Whey 5lbs and a thing of Nature's Best L-Glutamine (something a friend said was good to make your muscles heal faster)

If the two things above are correct..one scoop of ON Whey has 23gs of protien..so I should take two right, and have 46gs of protien. So basically, I would have to take three 2 scoop servings and then a 1 scoop serving through each day?

Also..are you supposed to drink these drinks everyday, like even on an off day? Do you take a less amount?

Just eat raw foods, and get some more quality protien . The protien shakes are expensive and never as good as real foods. No matter what the mobojumbo marketing machines say. As to the glutamine, its one of the few supplements which truly work in the sense that its slightly anti-catabolic. Don't expect miracles from food supplements. Your body is not a machine, so if you eat 40 grams of protien, its not said that it will use 100% of it. Try to eat 1 to 1.5 grams a pound a day. Thats more then sufficient.

What HC said and drink your water! 8 80z glasses minimum. Drink your protein every day, 2 or 3 times a day if you can afford it. Glutamine is a must for growth and recovery.
