cold gym

Well as mentioned before our gym is moving to a new site and is in a state of disarray right now. Last night I'm training legs, sweating my ass off, when some guys come thru from the back room with a steel staircase on a couple carts, right up thru the middle of the gym and prop open the double doors to get them out. This of course took about 10 minutes and it was maybe 5 degrees outside. It became freezing in there so I moved to the back even though I wasn't done. Finally I left after I could feel the sweat on my back turning into ice cubes. I WAS PISSED!
Of course today i am all stuffed up. Coincidence? I think NOT!

Don't be suck a pussy.....I used to train at this gym that had problems withe the power going off. We has days in there during the winter when there was not heat and during the summer it would be like 100 degrees. We just opened the dock doors and kept training. I remeber on time during the winter the power went off and we had 3 flash lights shining across the gym so we could see where we were going. It got a little cold in there that day.

They suck ...and will always take your money before you get your money's worth..it may be worth the extra time to switchthings up and try out a few gyms in the area...may give your workout that extra nudge you don't know you need.. Ihave got a gym on its way here so maybe you can check it out and see what if you like it a day or two a week ....good luck

That sucks! My gym has been freezing lately....I absolutely hate it and my workouts are suffering from it too

So, back in the old days, when I was training in the artic circle, we used to have to shovel out snow and break up the ice around the squat rack.

The plates were always frozen together, so sometimes we'd just have to start squatting with 315 or more b/c we couldn't use just one 45lber.

And when you were done with your set, you'd better be damn sure you've got the bar racked, b/c your hands would be frozen to the bar.

We had a fire going in the middle of the gym to heat the water we had to throw on the machines to get them to thaw out.

We used to slap each other around before our sets - not to get psyched up, but to see if we hand frostbite. I once saw a guy get his nose knocked straight across the room.

And man, I shutter to remember all the warm-up sets we had to do. Everyone was doing volume training b/c you had to do warm-up sets between your work sets just to stay warm.

Just to screw around, we used to pour some water on our buddies feet during a set of bench presses. Before they were done, they would frozen to the ground and we'd laugh our asses off when they'd try to walk away...

Ahhhh... Those were the days.

Then, there was that year and a half training in Ghana...

My gym at the college I go to is always cold as shit! Nothing 20 minutes in the sauna won't cure though!

next week I say we hit a few gyms in the area for our one day free pass!! we've got less than two weeks before the new gym opens.
