diet question

Ok, I am trying to diet with Kid. I have never dieted in my life...it's a 4 letter word! I prefer to change my eating habits.

So, I am doing pretty well. Charting what I eat & doing pretty well at keeping my carbs around 100 per day.
I have been getting to the gym 3 times a week. I'm trying to do cardio at home too....but things have been busy...

So my question is, why have I gone up a pound, down 3 then up 2? Or did I already answer my own question?

I don't know the answer to your question but the fact that you are keeping your carbs at 100 a day is great!
I keep mine at no more than 150 but sometimes I go over by 20 or 30.

I work in the weight loss industry and one of the most common questions I hear is the one you just asked. If you weigh yourself daily keep in mind the following:

the time of day you are weighing,
what clothes you are wearing,
if you've had a BM yet (a BM can easily be 2-4 lbs, gross huh),
h2o retention from high sodium foods consumed the previous day.

Any 1 of these factors can affect your weight on the scale even if you are eating right & training regularly.

I have to say this.....I am NOT weighing myself every day. Nope, not me :) I have done it more than once though. And yes, I make sure it's the same time, same cloths, etc. I have an obsession with the scale. If I don't see results in the mirror, I turn to numbers.

I suppose I'm jumping the gun....It's only been a few weeks. But I remember a time when I would skip one meal & loose 5 lbs. {sigh} Those were the days.

KD's Lady, your "weightgain" of one pound could be anything. It could (and probably is) just water. Also, the # of carbs you eat/day doesn't make a difference if you are still eating more calories than you're burning each day.

To answer your question, I am a Dietian.

BTW-you look very lean, I'm jealous! j/k

Keep doing what you're doing and be consistent. The exercise will definitely benefit and increase your metabolism as well. A little tip: depending on the time you have in your busy schedule, do your weight work out before cardio and you will burn more calories. Keep up the good work and good luck!

Ahhh, something I've been doing right! lol I always do the weights before the cardio.

I was being very consistant & dropped 4-5 lbs. I have trouble noticing differences in the mirror so I weigh myself. KR says he sees changes.

I have been off all week due to surgery & didn't worry too much about what I ate. I've maybe gained a lb. Not bad eh?

Tomorrow I'm getting on the treadmill. Maybe Tues I'll be back to the weights. Very light ones.

Thanks much.
