I am trying to build a basic home gym. I don't have much space about enough room for a bench and some wieghts. Can someone advise me of a good place to buy some weights and a good bench. Also what do you feel are the basic stuff you need for a home weight room?

See if you have a "Play it again sports" around you.....they have
good used and new stuff @ a good price.

Try Sears for some weights and such.


Try to get a variety of things that you can add weight to and take weight off. Like single-handed dumbells, bench bar, curl bar (if the bench bar tends to hurt your wrists like it does mine), squat rack eventually.

Try to get a bench that has the leg curl thing on it.

They have some cheap iron dumbbells, discs, curl bars ect. at wall mart.

Purchased my home equipment from York Barbell. Very quality stuff and made in USA. Buying a full set was given a discount.

I agree with justincase Play it Again Sports is a good place
to buy your equipment at. Its where I bought my free weights.
