views on creatine

Question: Does anyone else here think creatine is a waste of time? Unless you are an olympic power lifter, sprinter, arm wrestler, etc, why use it? Seems like it's alot of extra water that could potientially hide your cuts. They say that this provides a condusive envorionment for muscular growth... but it seems like the weight is only temporary and only slows me down. Perhaps it could aid while coming off a cycle, or while trying to maintain gains when dropping cals.

I mean, if you're trying to retain water, why not do it from a cycle of cyp, deca, and EQ? I mean, you'll be come a monster in the meantime! any opinions?
 
creatine is suppose to be im water retention and not sub q water retention, therefore your cuts wouldnt be hidden and I dont think its a waste of time at all, some have even loaded creatine precontest prep, though i wold be way to afraid to try it myself it is being done
 
Its wierd. I know its intracellular water retention, but my face gets puffy as hell on the stuff.....Maybe I have massive facial muscles :)
 
Creatine is definitely NOT a waste of time. It was one of the things that helped me gain before I got on HRT. I started out bodybuilding seriously at 130 lbs. and ended up at 150-155 only using the creatine. I've used it on and off continually since then. There is a definite increase in strength and energy when I'm on it.

I'm due for another cycle of creatine soon--I went off it when I started using the MC supps. Normally, I would lose only a few pounds going off creatine and keep most of my gains, but this time, I didn't lose anything. I'm hoping that when I go on again, I can push my weight over 200.

I would think that a person's body type may affect how well you can use creatine. I was always really skinny before, and I have a small bone structure compared to a lot of you guys. Maybe my muscles store creatine better, I don't know; I've never had a puffy face from it--although I've also never been on a true cycle of gear at the same time either.
 
i didn't know that some guys were using it during contest prep. i guess that it must make the muscles fuller because surely, they wouldn't use it if it added water under the skin... who knows, maybe I'll give it another shot. perhaps I'm just one of those people who can't benefit from it. :(
 
I also think the type/brand plays a major role in creatine as well, my best gains from creatine came with theold phosphagen hp years and years ago
 
Creatine and whey not a waste of time!

Creatine and whey protein post workout about 1 1/2 - 2 hours before will help your gains faster. There has been a lot of speculation but I have seen it happen time and time again, greatine alone will help increase weight gain because of the main active ingredient which is the same you get from red meat. Its great for transportation of proteins and getting water into the muscle for volumizing.

try the whey and creatine and you will see that this works great for good gains and faster recovery times in the gym.

I gain an average 10lbs of mass a year on this alone!
 
I happen to love creatine, and I do think the water weight is IM...not to mention the ATP benifits, which is a great reason to use it.I gain muscle, strength and stamina.
Buy a good quality powder creatine, add your own dextrose and whey, and its a great PWO shake, and its cheapper than the already mixed stuff, and last longer.
