Some interesting things seems to be happening because of the gas prices...people are starting to trade in their trucks and SUVs for small 4 or 6-cyl cars. I did it too! I had a Jeep Cherokee Limited for about 5 years, and for the last couple of months I had to start putting in about $20.00 of gas in every couple of days (I commute to work about 25 miles every day). The expense was starting to take its toll, so we traded in for a 2003 Chevy Malibu a couple of weeks ago. It's a small 6-cyl car, but it is a really nice car (with about 27000 miles on it), and I'm getting double the gas mileage than I had with the Cherokee. I would have bought a hybrid car if there hadn't been a waiting list for them. When we finalized the contract, the dealership told us they had record number of people that week doing the same thing as we did--so much in fact that they sold all their cars and needed to order more.

The more this happens, there will be actual decreases in the bottom line of oil company profits because it is more of a long-term change since small cars don't use as much fuel and we buy less of it, MUCH less than with a gas-guzzling SUV.

I aint ever trading in my SUV unless its for a bigger one,lmao, I love being up high and seing all the cars ahead and behind, plus i feel all manly in it

Hey bro I do understand ya, I had to use my old girlfriends car to go pick up my truck, its small and compact, like a miata and I am 6'1 245 and man that shit getss like 40mpg or some shit, when i got my SUV back it cost $60 to fill that shit up! In her little car that i felt like Hulk in a Barbie car but I was able to go like 110 miles on $1.50 lmao

The only thing keeping me from trading my shit in is my 2003 Z71 Tows the boat and the jet ski's which makes it all worth it..except this damn sunburn....but gas for the day for boat and toys ran like $100...Damn!

the sad part is it does. The other sad part is they make thier money back the next day. However, we need to stand up and say fuck this shit! Do we no! We are simply cattle who think we cant change things and we can, they have no idea of what its like to live l;ike a normal american who has to struggle to pay bills and such and then squeeze your bank account to buy fuel.
They sit there as we pay all thier luxury meals and hotels and nice cars and dont even remember we voted them in.
