Your opinion on others' injects...

I wanted to hear your opinions on this.

I was eating lunch with my Grandmother at this resturant and the guy at the other table tells the men he's eating with that he has to go to the car.

He comes back with this little black, leather case of some sort. He pulls some stuff out and I notice it's insulin. Please keep in mind this is just some old(er) guy, not a BBer by any means.

Now, I've done hundreds on injects with pins much larger, I've helped my friends do injects, I've seen my friends do injects, AND I've even watched my friends do slin.

None of the things mentioned right above have effected me in any way. NOW, when I watched this guy do slin at the resturant I almost threw up. I got all queezy and had to look away.

What are your thoughts on why it had an effect on me?

not sure why it affected you that way. my step son has had to do that scence he was 3 years old!! we always tried to keep from doing shots in public just for that reson!! man i could of had all the insulin i wanted, never had the balls to do it though!!

I used to have an extreme phobia of needles, when I was young and even in my late teens I would panic and fight for my life at the site of a pin.

Then it became necessary for me to use them all the time and the phobia went away, but I imagine there is some kind of innate knowledge like the sight of blood, fear of heights, fear of dark, ect. that subconsciously triggers physiological reaction to seeing skin being pierced and fluid being injected even if consciously you know its ok.
