GrapeJuice impersonator info

Here is a copy and paste of an email I received on info about GrapeJuice. Don't know if any of you deal with him. Pass on the info.

GrapeJuice is closed until further notice.

A ******* has managed to take over many of our and S.B.C's email accounts
including [email protected], [email protected] and even the
brand new [email protected] we opened just yesterday.

S.B.C can currently be contacted via their shipping dept only.

The ******* has opened a new email account "
[email protected] " and is using it to send their own payment info to guys who email GJ or
SBC at our old email accounts.

They are currently requesting you send funds to :-

"Gabriel-Roberts Matash" in Bangkok Thailand.

Under no circumstances send funds to this person.

When we have solved our security problems ( related to use of internet
cafes ) we will re-open.

Please spread the word on all the boards you visit, we have lost access to
most of our board accounts.

This bulk mail has been sent from [email protected] one of SBC's old accounts.

GJ.

has this post been approved and confirmed by mods?

I originally posted this info on Saturday to give a heads up to the mods. This information is correct and valid.

Posting email addresses whether legit or not, serves no legit purpose. Simply saying GJ's email account has been infiltrated or compromised in some way is sufficient to get the word out (I am not saying they have the legit addresses posted here or not - only those that have dealt with them have that knowledge). This particular outfit has been the victim of email forgers in the past and there forgers email addresses are on about every ******* list posted on the Net.

If it is true that the legit addresses have been compromised in some way, simply saying that alone should be enough to tip others off to a scamming (and I don't know if this scam is true or not - I don't have the definitive answer to that). I'm just arguing that email addresses, whether false or true should not be posted - even to tip others off to a scam. Simply saying "so in so's" email address has been compromised / hijacked by a ******* and the necessary precautions should be taken. MODS should edit this post accordingly.

Well I see your point Jacked1 and appreciate the argument. As to the nature of this scam artist and reports that he has already scammed(that I know of) at least $15K from legit bros around other boards, I think this warrants the email being posted to shut him down completely. As the original post was by a MOD(MMX2) and 3 other MODs chimed in to comment, I think that in itself validates the post. If it was a security issue then the post would have been deleted. It has been verified by several MODs including myself.

I understand your position on this matter and appreciate you pointing out obvious points in this thread that may have been a security issue. It really shows that you are a positive influence on the community and has the best interest of the board and its members at heart. That says alot about you in itself,

I am tentative about editing people's post just simply b/c of the "freedom of speech issue"...Now if it is a post that directly threatens the security of the board or its members, then I wouldn't hesitate, but in this case I would say it doesn't.

May the Iron Be With YOU!!!!
