Wondering if this is a good diet for bulking for a newbie? I came up with 1785 calories. Which would turn out to 179g of protein, 133g of carbs, & 60g of fats. I was planning on doing some "high intense" short workout of cardio to help keep the fat low. Or since im trying to bulkd up (153lbs right now) should i increase anything?

seems kind of low to me..

If your 40-30-30 is based on the Zone diet it would be 40% carbs 30% protein and 30% fat. In Barry Sear's private advice to athletes the fat and protein are adjusted up based on activity to maintain precise hormonal balance (insulin). It is not designed for the bulking phase of a bb.

I'd rather see you eat 6-8 meals of 40 pro 40 carb and 20 fat. Eat at least 1.5 g pro for evey lb of body weight. Your deefinetly not eating enough to see the results you wish for. If hunger is an issue, consider B12, makes me eat like a horse.

eat more calories....1785 calories is probably not even enough to maintain bodyweight...Eat closer to 3k calories to bulk. I would suggest around 1.5g of protein per lb of bodyweight.

As to advising toward an ideal "bulking" diet without having to strictly diet to cut, personally I favor 2.5 gms to 3 gms of protein per kg, with 30% of calories being made up of fish oil, flax seed oil, olive oil, some borage or morning primrose oil, (if you can stomach it ) hemp oil, with some virgin coconut oil or mct, and no more carbs than you need to replenish glycogen stores.
