worried about overtraining!

It's football season and i want to lift, but it seems like everytime i hit it hard it takes like a week and a half till i stop acheing. i am worried that if i keep a steady lifting routine through the season i will be overtraining. practices now though have been cut down to 3 a week (tues, thurs, fri, and games on sundays). i love football but sometimes i can't wait for the season to end so i can get some normalcy back into my life and focus on schoolwork and training. fucking college sucks sometimes. some advice would be great.
P.S i get alot of protein intake and have a good diet and try to get 8-10 hours sleep, but that doesn't leave much time for school work.

man i have the same problem. After i lift and after practice i'm so damn sore i never feel like i fully recover b4 my next lift.

Increase the amount of days inbetween lifts. You can try glutamine, some people say its helps them recover some people say they dont notice a thing.

i would try glutamine but i am on a low budget, i barely have enough money for food and protein.

try extreme stretching after working out. it helps me recover very fast from an intense workout...especially with chest and deads.

i always do a cool down on the mats after a work-out. i will stretch pretty much every muscle to disperse alot of the acids developed during exercise. the only thing i don't like to stretch is my arms after a work-out is because they get all swollen and i like the look JK.
i think it will be alright though because practices have been cut down to tues. thurs fri. and games on sun.
so what i am doing now is just a circuit training thing on wednesdays where i hit alot of body parts.
