WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

The first BBS (bulletin board service) came online in 1978.
These boards proliferated throughout the 80’s into the mid 90’s where the internet took over as the main source of groups getting together in specialized forums to share their knowledge of whatever topic was of interest to them. The early boards were accessed through slow modems so a user could converse and post topics or threads typing every word out as speed was really not a factor in getting your message across.
As modem speed increased and the advent of broadband and DSL came online, conversing via instant messaging, and posting topical information became quite fast –so fast that it became a big chore to type every single word in a thought or comment/response that the user was posting. It was because of this that acronyms were created to write quicker responses for both instant messaging chats and topical commentary. Some of these acronyms had been around for a long time and as more and more users came online the list grew by leaps and bounds. Fitness and bodybuilding forums increased during this time as well creating their own list of acronyms.
I have listed below common acronyms that I have been collecting for almost 10 years that are used in everyday conversation and messaging on bodybuilding boards. Some of these acronyms (or in some cases terms or slang) refer to supplementation, others refer to dosing, while others refer to emotion, or calling attention to a post or thread. Acronyms (or terms/slang) are listed in alphabetical order.
